Beyond Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Beyond ("the App") handles your data. Beyond is designed with a privacy-by-default approach: your content is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to Beyond servers.

2. What data does Beyond process?
2.1 Data that you enter
Email address, used to identify the account within the device.
Passwords, including account and/or video passwords. Passwords are not saved in plain text; they are saved as hashes.
Recovery Key, shown to you so you can save it. The App only saves a hash of that key.
2.2 Content you create
Videos recorded in the App.
Video metadata, such as recipient name, unlock date, video user and related message information.
2.3 Technical data
Beyond does not require creating online profiles and does not collect analytics or advertising data by default.
Some functionality may depend on system services provided by Android or iOS, such as camera, microphone, local storage, file sharing, printing/PDF and biometric authentication or device PIN.
3. Where is the data stored?
Videos and associated data are saved in your device's local storage.
Beyond does not store your videos on its own servers and does not automatically sync your content with the cloud.
4. Device permissions
Depending on what you use, the App may request:
Camera and microphone, for recording videos.
Storage/files, for exporting and importing copies or messages.
Device biometrics or PIN, for sensitive actions. Verification is performed by the operating system. Beyond does not receive your PIN or biometric data.
If you do not grant a permission, certain features may not be available.
5. Export and import
The App allows you to export a single message, to deliver or import it on another mobile device.
The App also allows you to export a full copy or backup, for changing device or preserving a copy.
These files can contain personal data and videos. When you share a file, you choose the channel, such as WhatsApp, email, AirDrop or another sharing method. That platform may have its own privacy policy.
6. PDF document for notary, lawyer, executor or trusted person
The App may open an informational PDF document for the user to fill out. This document is not automatically sent to anyone. Its use depends on your own decisions and instructions.
7. Legal basis for processing
The legal basis may include service execution, so the App can work, save accounts, videos, unlock dates and related data.
The legal basis may also include consent, when you grant device permissions or when you share/export files.
8. Data retention
Data is stored on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
When you uninstall the App, the operating system may delete the local data associated with the App.
9. Security
Passwords and keys are stored as hashes, not as plain text.
Device authentication, such as PIN or biometrics, may be required for sensitive actions.
No system is infallible. Security also depends on locking and using your device responsibly.
10. Minors
Beyond is not specifically aimed at minors. If you are a guardian and a minor uses the App, you are responsible for that use.
11. Your rights under GDPR/LOPDGDD
If the regulations apply to you, for example in the European Union or Spain, you can request information or exercise your rights, including access, rectification or erasure, by writing to contacto@bitdigitalstudio.com.
As most of your data is stored only on your device, many actions are managed directly from the App, such as deleting videos or deleting your account.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The Last updated date will indicate the latest version. The current version will be published at https://mybeyond.app/privacy.
